Operation Encompass: A Holistic Approach to Safeguarding Children

Operation Encompass is a pioneering initiative dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of children who may be exposed to domestic abuse. Our mission is simple yet profound: to support and protect children who are affected by domestic violence by ensuring that key information is shared between agencies involved in their care.

At the heart of Operation Encompass is collaboration. We work closely with schools, police, and other relevant agencies to create a network of support around vulnerable children. When a domestic abuse incident occurs within a child's household, the police notify the child's school before the start of the next school day. This allows designated staff at the school, known as Key Adults, to provide timely and appropriate support to the child, ensuring their well-being and enabling them to access the help they need.

Our approach recognizes that children impacted by domestic abuse often face significant emotional and psychological challenges. By providing support early on and fostering a safe and nurturing environment within schools, we aim to mitigate the adverse effects of domestic violence and empower children to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
