Dear Parents/Carers,
On Wednesday 12th February 2025, the pupils of Prenton Primary School will be taking part in a sponsored ‘Speed Challenge’ run by ProStrike Events. There is no fee for participation and every child in the school will take part from F2 to Year 6!
The Speed Challenge involves a giant inflatable football goal with integrated speed camera system. When a pupil (or teacher) takes a shot at goal the speed is displayed on a digital screen. Every child in the school will receive a personalised certificate showing their top speed on the day of the event.
Like many fundraising events, funds are raised via pupil sponsorship; children will ask friends and family members to sponsor them to take part in the speed challenge. The more each child can raise, the more prizes they will win. The prizes include: drinks bottles, gym bags, stationary, medals, trophies and footballs! School will receive 50% of all the money raised and all costs associated with running the event come out the remaining 50%.
Today the pupils had an assembly where the event was explained to the pupils and staff. During this assembly we informed the children about the importance of ‘safe’ fundraising. We have asked that all funds raised are received from friends and family only and pupils are not to knock on doors or ask strangers to sponsor them.
Your child will bring home today a sponsorship form. The sponsorship form shows what prizes can be won as well as the Pro Strike website and contact details. The prizes have been changed and updated slightly from our last Pro Strike event. The form needs to be returned to school on the day of the event but all ProStrike Events nationwide are cashless, so all donations need to be made via their secure website. https://www.prostrikeevents.co.uk/pay-online/
We recommend that you either:
a) Ask each sponsor to pay online themselves using the link.
b) Collect all the sponsorship money yourself and send all the donated money yourself using the link.
When any donation is made the sponsor must type the name and class of the child they are sponsoring so that ProStrike and ourselves can keep track of the amount each child raises.
Children should wear school uniform to take part but if you child wishes to bring in a pair of trainers to change into they are more than welcome. Prizes will be delivered to school a few weeks after the event and given out to the children.
Good luck with your fundraising!
